At $199 in North America compared to £129 in United Kingdom....
I think this price cut more or less equalizises these two places.
As regards plug and play kits, why dont people buy what i did in England.
Always have 1 set of AA charged up ready and swap round once per week - simple. Can also be used for more than just games controllers also if need be:
The control interface.
Ask yourself what is easier for a grandma, small child, casual and soccer mom to use - 360 controller (or PS3 come to that) or the Wiimote.........
Stick in Wii sports wave the Wiimote around and your Grans having fun - no fuss,no mess.
Stick a game in on the 360 (or PS3) give your gran the controller, explain the basics of the dual thumbsticks and watch her walking into a wall whilst looking at the floor for 3 hours..........

"I am actually excited for Fable 2.It will be the only game this year capable of competing with a PS3 game."
Horses for courses sunshine........
I remember playing it on the Saturn alooooong time ago.
Brilliant weapons, level design and alot of attitude.
Take my simple test to see if you are a hardcore gamer or not......
1.Do you know who Shigeru Miyamoto is?
2.Could you tell if the next Mario game was coming out on a Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft platform?
3.Do you regularly read magazines or surf websites looking for info on games?
4.Would you know - within a months accuracy - when your next planned purchase of a game is being released?
5.Could you name the odd game out fr...

Old Halo2 game with legends.
Oliver Hardy with his looks to the camera 70 years ago - when with Stan Laurel obviously.
Broke the illusion of the short/film yet sucked you in more because you felt for him - contadictory somehow but it still works - genius.
"But when it's compared to the Xbox 360, it is an over-priced behemoth that fails on too many levels to make it an attractive buy at the store."
Although i personally prefer the 360 over the PS3 the above statement is just ridiculous.
Overpriced? - No,an absolute bargain even if taken solely as a Blu-Ray player.
Sony are top-notch with their hardware - excellent T.V's,Stereos etc and they havent skimped in anyway with the PS3 hardware - i...
"The real world is not as detailed as some games...
Gears for example. The surface bump mapping goes way beyond anything in our world. Even real war damaged landscapes aren't quite as busy looking.
The rocks in Uncharted make my eyes hurt to look at them there's so much detail.
The real world is detailed, but muted. 3D artists will have to bite the bullet and start softening their creations into the background to match it.
Not everythin...
"look at heavy rain, lets make that 3 years down the line, it's going to look better etc...can it get much better? "
Games will keep looking better until they do look photo realistic - im not talking the crap that MS and Sony say either, thats miles off of photo realistic.
Play GT5p then look out your window - big difference.
Sure games do look nice compared to 10 years ago but i believe that every 2 years the power of graphics cards etc d...
MS shut down Ensemble and keep the 'Age of Empires' rights and are going to do a new game in the future?
Wouldnt it have been more simple to keep open Ensemble and after they finished Halo Wars ask them to start a new Age of Empires game.
I gotta be missing something
*goes to reread the story for the 3rd time*
"Should have done a fun raiser, but it doesn't matter to me because we have Grand Turismo. Beat that. "
GRID, Project Gotham4............
Halo4 on launch day would probably send gamers into a frenzy, its one of gamings true AAA big hitters at the moment - whether you like the franchise or not, sales, scores and cries for more back this up.
Still if the '720' is a 2011 release then thats another 3 years to wait for the next genre defining FPS to come out - going by past Halo's.
I can kind of imagine what Halo4 is gonna be like - lets hope it lives up to its true potential on a new platform.
Go see a movie for £6 --- enjoyment = £3 per hour
Buy a dvd for £10 and watch it 10 times ever ---enjoyment = £0.50 per hour
Buy a game for £40 --- complete offline in 10 hours and play online for 100 hours --- enjoyment = £0.28 per hour
Aslong as the game you play has alot or replayability/lastability (CoD4,Halo3) then they are excellent value for an entertainment medium
Perhaps in 15 years or so when everyone has super fast broadband then DD will start making it mainstream
Shops wont need to worry for a long time though because consumers do like hardcopy's of games.
They need to step up their quality control for both hardware and software by all accounts.
"Not really, pretty much any engine can be ported to another system with changes that would hardly effect the over all product, the main problem is hardware depended engines that need a HDD or whatever.
"
Says it all perfectly.
"games of this level of creativity and innovation can only be made on the PS3 "
What you mean a glorified version of the Sega Saturns 'Clockwork Knight' game from 10 years ago....
Only reason i'd buy one on the list is that it plays blu-ray movies
PSP - not important
10 year life cycle - not applicable,i will be upgrading to new console in 3-4 years
PSN - outdone and bettered by competitor
Games - see PSN ^^
The graphics were plastic like, the direction was poor and i wasn't even a tad bit blown away.
Starting music was nice but thats all - hope the game is gonna be better than this otherwise im not gonna be happy.........
